Busy Family Day

We are going to skip over a week or so of time between blogs. Don’t worry. You aren’t missing anything except a drill weekend, a whole lot of business and not enough family time. But by Friday (the 25th) we had gotten past a chunk of that and were ready for a family day.

Note to self. This is where the conduit for the electricity to the shop runs.

We were going to pick apples for CiderFest in the morning. Mommy found some folks on Facebook that were willing to let us have the apples from a tree in their front yard. However, it rained all morning so we worked in the shop instead, sweeping all the sawdust and wood shavings into a pile.

Then we went down into the basement to work on the pantry shelves.

Made good progress on that. We already have more shelf space than in our garage pantry at the house, and we still have a long way to go. The Christmas lights are to provide light inside the shelves so we can read the labels on the tops of the jars. That was about all we had time for before lunch.

After lunch it was a family dentist trip, then Daddy and the older girls had to drive out to Graham for more hay, and then finally, right before sunset, we got out to the house where the apples were and picked a decent sized box of apples.

Meanwhile, Mommy made us some delicious soup and buttermilk biscuits.

Yes, the school books are sitting on the dining room table. That’s pretty much where they live on a permanent basis unless we have to clear up for company.
