Baking day

Sometimes it is hard to get up in the morning. Instead of getting up and getting after it, it is easier to just to stagger into the living room, and lay back down on the couch.

And if you get there and find that a sibling has already staggered in and laid back down? Just plop on top of them.

Don’t let Winnie fool you. She had already been awake for half an hour.

Helping to make rye muffins.

She likes sorting the muffin cups out by color.

We were making pizza for a meal train, so the commute to the farm was even more complicated than usual.

But the oven at the farm tops out at 550 degrees instead of only 500. This is great for neapolitan style crusts.

And they came out beautifully.

I had to fight off a horde of small barbarians to make sure there were a couple slices saved for Mommy.
