More Apple Picking

Cider Fest is now two weeks out, or at least it was when these apples were collected. By the time you read this it will be barely one week out.

It’s time to collect the apples.

For us, since we don’t have a large, mature orchard, this means going on Facebook and asking around to see who has apples falling on their lawns that they want someone to come pick up for free.

It is a fun way to spend a couple of hours, if you don’t expect much in the way of productivity from the kids. Especially the younger ones.

What is Mommy smiling at?

I don’t know? What is Daddy smiling at?

And then they floated through the tree like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and the kids were grossed out.

Ellie refused to do the “I’m up in a tree I guess” routine that was so universally loved when she was just a little nipper.

Roughly 500 Lbs of apples in two hours of work (not counting the hour drive each way, but that was snack and singing time, so a good Family morning.
