When life hands you blackberries…
Make booze.

Or at least try. With the puree from last week, Mommy made a couple of pints of blackberry vinegar, but there was still a ton leftover.

So we made a batch of mead with blackberry (known as melomel).

And a batch of blackberry wine. I didn’t have quite enough puree, so I just grabbed some frozen blackberries and put them in a mesh bag and hung them in the juice. We let them sit for 24 hours, starting from Saturday night after work, to Sunday night after our first date in several months.

Proofed some wine yeast during the rosary. It was a good thing I did because the wine in the red packet was totally dead, but the wine in the green packet fizzed nicely.

And then cast the yeast on it Sunday night after prayers. Friday night after work it should be ready to siphon into secondary fermentation.
