Last week was Swiss Kids Kamp. This was Ellie’s first year going, and Evie’s second year. Ellie was not at all sure she wanted to go, because she heard that they serve soup for lunch. Like, every day. That sounds like a fate worse than death!
However, she braved through it, took her “no-thank-you” bites and survived the ordeal, and managed to have a whole lot of fun despite the trials and tribulations of soup.

Seppi did not go, because he is too young still. Also he was wounded.
Mommy has been volunteering in the dish pit. That is, she washes dishes. She has been doing this for more than twenty years…

That’s right. It’s hard to believe she started when she was seven.

*Edit: Apparently she was not seven. This is ca 1997.

Daddy was working on Thursday and harvesting wheat on Friday, but he got up on Saturday, and then brought the two younger kids up on Sunday to see the final performance.

Ellie-Belle being an Ellie-Belle.

She did a fantastic job with the maypole girls.

And she wants you to know that she wrestled Layla and beat her.

Evie is too mature and dignified to clown around for the camera. She is an old hand at this camp stuff.
And just like that, another weekend flashes by in a blur of edelweiss and soup. Time to start planning next year…
