Strawberries

Not much farming happened while Daddy was in Texas. This should hardly be surprising, since Mommy was in Texas as well for 5 of those days, and the kids were with Deedee and Papa.

And also, it’s really hard for two grownups to keep up with work and taking care of the kids, and still find time to get work done on the homestead. It is even harder with only one grownup.

Still, Mommy took the kids out to pick strawberries one of the days Daddy was gone. These are not our strawberries. Ours got decimated by the sheep, and are also overgrown by weeds. This is a local U-pick strawberry farm.

They had a lot of fun, ate a lot of strawberries, and even managed to bring home enough to make jelly and freeze a few quarts for later.

I wish we had pictures of the jam, because it is quite pretty, but we don’t. Bad bloggers.
