Seppi is six years old now! How did that happen?
Time flies when you are having fun.
Since Daddy missed his birthday because of the National Guard (Again!) So we had some man time the following weekend. Daddy worked a few extra National Guard days so Seppi tagged along when we went out to the field.

He made sure to put on his camo shorts and camo shirt and camo boots, because that’s what real soldiers wear.

He got to hang out with real soldiers, and see real army vehicles and real army tents. (No real army guns, much to his disappointment).

We also went to the post museum. the inside area was closed, but we still walked around the outside part.

He’s almost big enough to be a bullet for this gun!

Tanks are endlessly fascinating.

The next day was Father’s day, so we did a project with Papa. We cut out some bird house pieces from cheap pine scraps from some old shelves we took apart.

Papa had a gift for Seppi, a wooden treasure chest he made.

This is why when we are at the farm store and Seppi sees the toy power tools and wants us to buy them for him, I always say no.

Why does he need fake power tools, when he is allowed to use real power tools (with supervision only, so far.)

But sometimes, you still have to do things the old fashioned way. A man should be equally proficient with modern power tools and the old hand tools as well.

We spray-painted one of them while we were there, the one that Seppi was going to give to Papa for Father’s Day.

We spray-painted it Camo.

Why? Because according to Seppi, birds like camo.

Didn’t turn out too bad! No, he did not lose more teeth. That’s chocolate stain on his teeth.

On Tuesday we spray painted the other two.

And added eye-hook fasteners on the sides of them.

This is the best of the houses, and he wants to enter it at the fair this year. So, if you are in the Graham area August 13-16, stop by Frontier Park and see if you can find it.

On Monday Seppi got more of the real army experience. Daddy had to go up to the Armory for some business, and since I had the kids, they came along with me.

The medics are getting a new building, and it needed to be cleaned out. The kids who hate cleaning at home were suddenly so excited to clean in a new and exciting place.

Vacuuming is especially fun.

But the best thing ever, was the mop bucket!

In about 12 years he has the makings of the world’s best private, if he decides to go the Army route.
