Gardening Buddies
I love these little girls so much! One of them is not so little anymore. Those carharts and stripy insulated rain coat were Evie's once, and they are still going strong. Parsnip seeds and carrot seeds are too small to be worth planting individually using the form, so we just scatter them thinly. Or not… Continue reading Gardening Buddies
One (Goose) Egg Omelet
All the mises are en place as our Parisian friends are wont to say. One goose egg. Cream, cheddar, salami, and a cup of fresh sauer ruben. (The sauer ruben is at 9 days fermenting, with just a tsp of pepper and some carraway in this batch. So tasty!) The moment we have all been… Continue reading One (Goose) Egg Omelet
Saturday Morning Work
Saturday was a busy day, with auto-repair, confessions, and a wedding. But that's no reason not to get in a couple hours of work. Another pathway, another garden bed. We are running out of time, as usual. After Tuesday we won't be able to get back to the garden for almost two weeks.

More garden prep.
Bed 1 in the garden is going to be root crops this year (carrots, onions, beets) as such it needs to be one of the first ones prepped, since we will be seeding these very soon. Bed 2 is already seeded and growing nicely with winter wheat. Bed 3 is going to be the legumes… Continue reading More garden prep.
Homeschooling
The adventure never ends. Look at that newly minted ten-year-old. Studiously cruising through her math. We love you Evie! Not to be left out, Ellie has been getting into embellishing and ornamenting her math tests like a monk copying a medieval manuscript. Isn't that charming, then?
Garden Beds
It is that time of year again. Time to prep garden beds to receive seeds in the next few weeks. In fact we are quite behind this year because we have been down with the flu, and we will be gone on vacation in early March so we may not be able to catch up… Continue reading Garden Beds
