The children have been hard at work building a fort in the straw bales under the car port.
The farm is a dangerous place. Enemies attack us on a regular basis. Mostly Nazis and vermin hordes. Sometimes a budding young paratrooper can get shot in the ensuing war.
When that happens, we need a secure location for our infirmary sister to treat the wounded hero.
Evie and Ellie decided to expand the fort to include the area under the snow-ball bush. There is just one problem.
The snowball bush is overgrown with blackberries.
So Ellie took the brush clippers and cut her way right through it!
Apparently it was quite perilous.
Never one to turn down a challenge, she now has a veritable tunnel running right through the bush. I might not even have to go through and pull our blackberries this winter, at this rate.
