You know that one kid, that wakes up before all the other kids, and gets up and after it while everyone else is still working on getting up?

On Tuesday that was Winnie. This is a picture of her running around the living room singing “Get up! Get up! Time to Get Up!” and “What can you do with a drunken sailor, ear-lie in the morning!” at the top of her lungs.

She was mad that I wouldn’t let her help me move wood chips in the morning when it was raining cats and dogs. Darned if she was going to stay inside in the afternoon when it was just drizzling.

Of course there is always the problem of hands getting “told.”

But we let her borrow Seppi’s work gloves and that fixed that.
She is a hard worker.

“Chicken! Go back in your house!”
That chicken was not going anywhere. Uncovering that patch of mud under the dirt and woodchips turned up so many tasty worms! That hen was in heaven!

“I am a dorf and I digging a hole. Diggy-diggy-hole.” She was so tired at this point. I thought she was going to go inside and crash on the couch.

Job well done!
