A corporal work of mercy

Now that we have Thursdays as a “family day” I would like to be able to claim that we spend every Thursday doing cool things and charitable works together as a family.

In fact, this is not the case. At best, Thursday is now the day when we can go get groceries, catch up on tasks that have fallen behind, take the car to the shop, and if we are forth thoughtful enough, get all the ankle biters taken care of so we don’t have to do them on Sunday.

However, this Thursday we did get the opportunity to do a charitable work, at least part of the family.

Our parish priest, Fr. Lou, is trying to build some raised beds at the rectory. We happen to have a surplus of muck at the moment.

He was more than happy to take a pick up load off our hands.

Just enough to put an 8 inch layer on the bottom of each of his beds.

I am pretty sure “give poop to the city dwellers” is one of the classical corporal works of Mercy.
