Our Water

Nothing Like a Time Crunch

Well, we have been digging diligently, trying to extend the trench from the rain catchment tank out to the driveway to intersect with the water-line that extends out to the pasture.

By Tuesday morning we were more or less in line with where we had templated the water line to run, based on a straight line between the frost free hydrant by the chicken yard…

And the frost free hydrant by the garden. We had assumed the pipe ran in more or less a straight line from one to the other.

Still not finding anything, and having dug the trench four feet deep just to be sure (the previous owner had a penchant for seriously over burying everything), we decided to dig a pilot hole by the hydrant to see which angle the line was coming in by.

It is coming in from more or less the same area, but apparently on the opposite side of the driveway. Right underneath a big giant rock.

With a combination of mechanical advantage, blocks, and brute force, Daddy was able to move the rock.

So now the digging can commence trying to find the elusive water line.

To complicate matters, this week is Swiss Kids Kamp, so we will be up in Buckley until Sunday night.

And the slaughter truck has to drive across that driveway on Monday morning to get to the pigs.

Nothing like a deadline.
