Well folks, I am pleased to announce that for the first time ever we have a very respectable row of cannellini beans.

Those are the short beans, the tall ones are blue lakes, and French runner beans.

And the cannellini are loaded!
We have to wait until the plants are completely dried out and desiccated, then hang them up in the shop with the stove on to dry even a little more, and when they are totally and completely dry, put them inside a feed sack, thresh them with sticks, and then Dump the beans out of the bottom of them. Then we would store the beans dry, or can them up so they are ready to dump in a minestrone soup.
We will see what we have time for when the time comes.

The green and purple beans are doing nicely as well. Since we still have maybe 20 quarts of beans left over from last year, we may have to sell some of these, or see if anyone wants to come over and can beans with us. Maybe we could do a bean canning class.
Just brainstorming.
