The garden is slowly beginning to take shape. Our winter wheat is coming in very nicely, and we even have seed heads forming.
The beans have come in quite satisfactory, unlike most of the rest of the seeds we have planted. We have four trellises worth of blue lake, two trellises worth of purple French beans, and about 28 feet of cannellini beans.
This part of the garden looks very nice, so in millennial style that’s the one we’re going to take pictures of.

"I only remember the very first part of the book where he described the man of steel and velvet and I remember the deep chord that phrase struck. I remember the image I had of a hand of living steel wearing a velvet glove, a hand that could crush or caress, strike a killing blow or wipe away tears, lift mountains or cradle an infant. The rest of the book was an afterthought."
From an essay about Aubrey Andelin's "Man of Steel and Velvet".
