We officially finished the pasture water line project today. That is, we covered the last 80 feet of trench.
The older girls earned a dollar each pulling up a rubbermade tote of shotweed. We managed to get it green, so this patch at least did not shoot seeds all over the place.

Ellie fed some to the pigs, who seemed to think it was tasty. Apparently it has a taste reminiscent of watercress? I’ll be sure to try some tomorrow.

While the two biggers finished their school, the smaller two helped with the de-excavation.

Beautiful sunny weather!

In case you are wondering, yes, she did end up getting a shovelfull of dirt in her hair. Occupational hazard of having a brother.

Before too long, all four were out frolicking in the field and on the rockpile.

Helping out, like the big girl she is.

And there you have it, a 340 foot trench completely filled in. Now we need to build fence anchors and stretch some fence.

As an added bonus, we made a little HIIT workout out of placing the T-posts along this east fence. Daddy would sprint the length of the field, grab the next post, and sprint back. By the time he got back, the girls had the spot marked and had the post pounder ready to go. He would pound the post as fast as he could (results may vary, depending on whether he hit a rock or not), and then drop it and sprint to grab the next one, and so on until all 9 were in. Took about 10 minutes to get all of them in.
Now, on to the next stage of the pasture setup project. Almost ready for cows!
