Our Garden

Dog by the Garden Gate

It was actually sunny outside yesterday, for part of the day. Daddy and the kids continued working on the garden gate/fence project.

Of course this involved digging. Lots of digging. This took us through the coolest part of the morning, and by the time the air temperature was above 40 degrees we were ready to drop the fence posts and poor the concrete.

Poor Gunther. He feels fenced out. “I feel like there’s a wall between us.”

Not speaking metaphorically, here.

Ellie doing her best Samson impression.

We then pulled out all the old fencing, including the dig barrier, and rolled it all up, except for about 30 feet of dig barrier that was too mangled to be salvageable. It’s tedious, but that is several hundred dollars worth of fencing and posts, in relatively decent condition. It can be recycled for other projects.

Last step was to pop out all the fence posts and drag them to the stockpile.

Seppi is not quite big enough to lift them out of the ground, but he can sure drag them.

“Dada, why are you so strong?”

“Because I ate all the food and picked up all the heavy things.”

Don’t worry, little dude, you’ll be big one fine day, and probably stronger than I am.
