Our next batch of egg birds arrived today!

Daddy had to take an hour off work to get them, because they came at the most inconvenient time possible, but fortunately there was a corresponding lull in the patients at the same time. God has a way of taking care of things.

5 Bard Rocks, 5 Sapphire Gems, 5 Black Australorpes, 5 Speckled Sussex, 5 Buff Orpington, and 5 Buff Orpington Roosters.

Winnie has never seen baby chicks before.

I think it’s safe to say she likes them.

But who doesn’t love a cute, peeping little fluff ball?

The two older girls are big enough now to help out with the process, after we had calmed them down enough that they wouldn’t accidentally dance on the chicks.

Each one has to have its beak dipped into the water and then set next to the food so that they know where they are.
And now we sit back, watch them grow, and pray we don’t lose too many to transport shock.
