Rainy day in the shop

The big wet and rainy is here. The days of beautiful weather are behind us. We may get one or two here in there, but from now on, it is pretty much just rain until next spring.

After the heavy, homeschool lift, and baking and laundry and dishes are done for the morning, and errands run in the afternoon, we can find a few hours sometimes to put in on farm projects. Sometimes we have one or two subjects to clean up, but the beauty of homeschooling is you can do it in the shop. In this case, Evie is looking for the reference to Patagonia in her history text.

I promise, it is in there somewhere.

There’s still work to be done. Right now, mostly of a tearing and demolishing nature.

We have to take apart the old bookshelves and storage racks that the previous owner had in there to make space for our plans.

The kids have to be off to the side while daddy is doing the big heavy stuff, but they are nearly always able to find a way to amuse themselves.

I had to put a stop to this practice of sitting on two buckets. Seppi was utterly shocked to find out that it could possibly go wrong in anyway. Never mind that as soon as he stood up, one of the buckets fell off the other one. Who knew that Daddy has prophetic gifts?

And in case you were wondering, Evie did manage to find out where Patagonia was, and in fact, still is.
