What do you do when you have leftover mashed potatoes?
Obviously, you make donuts.
Mommy and the girls made the dough yesterday, while the menfolk were running errands and mending fences.
Today after mass, she pulled it out of the refrigerator and cut it into circles. We don’t have a donut cutter, so she just cut them into circles, and then we experimented with different ways to cut the hole out of it.
Cutting it out by hand with a paring knife is too messy and it warms the dough up too much. Shot glass is too big. Beer bottle is too small and the donut hole gets stuck in the end of it.
But one way or another, mommy is very resourceful, and she will get them made.
